Nothing to shout about .The 5 titles were won by players who have played in the circuit for no less than 5 years already. What ardent fans of Chinese badminton like me would shout about is when more Chinese youngsters are involved at the semi-final or final stages, not just THW and the Guangxi guniang, whatever her name, who partnered MJ. Thanks for the summary all the same.
ROW, especially players from some Asian nations, always complain about the need to beat many good players from China. Yet you could see how Fu/Zhang beat 4 prominently strong MD pairs en route taking the MD titles and no complaint about the draw... to be a pro sportsman, one should be not afraid of meeting any good and strong opponents, disregard of their nationalities... otherwise one does not deserve to be a real champion...
Absolutely agree with you.The same also applies to CHN players, as a matter of fact. Take Wang Yihan's case here - in the QF she has to overcome Intanon's conqueror Liu Xin, then in the SF face Saina's conqueror Wang Shixian, and in the Final be up against Sung JH's conqueror, the World Number 1, Li Xuerui. What about Sun Yu or Han Li, just to name two other CHN players, who is regularly stopped by their fellow top teammates in the early rounds of one tournament after another ? I'm sure their agony and frustration is no less than any ROW players.
In fact, Zhang / Fu these two players are the top players, but they rarely mix, they just need time to let them have a better understanding each other, the future will play more better than right now.
I don't necessarily think so. Right now, FHF/ZN are a new pair together. They have already played some tournaments so their mutual understanding of the situation would be good. It can only increase by say 10-15%. But, the drawback is that it is now that they have announced their entry into the top tier of MD, the winning bracket you can say. People will be studying them henceforth, and be better prepared for them. In the last match, one thing that was totally evident was that LYD/YYS didn't have a game plan for them. They just showed up and played a general tactics, tactics not specifically geared against them. Even we were surprised at how much Fu Haifeng has improved at the net, Zhang Nan has become quick and sharp etc.
I am happy SWH went to the final and gave CL a good challenge. If he could prove consistent, he would be a worthy replacement for LHI.
Well, it's not surprising that WXL/YY won the finals, considering that...... Poor Misaki. She must be one tired girl! The workload is taking it's toll on our dear CLELY! :crying::crying::crying:
Before, Zhang / Hu two players, they just played by themself, and now they will complement each other shortcomings, which is a great improvement, addition, Zhang Nan play more open.
