    I hope our LCW is inspired by the win of Nadal in the most gruelling 5hrs Winbledon Final to beat the 5-times defending champion, Federer. If LCW and LD meets in the OG Final, I hope LCW will do what Nadal did...
    Msia Boleh.... LCW Boleh... :D

    ========
    Rafael Nadal has won his first Wimbledon men's singles title after holding off a stunning fightback from five-times champion Roger Federer to secure a dramatic victory in an epic rain-affected five-set final.

    Nadal triumphed 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-7 9-7 in fading light in the longest men's final in Wimbledon history, as the French Open champion prevented top seed Federer from becoming the first man in history to win six successive titles.

    Jimbo, you definitely BOLEH. :)

    For sure, if NADAL can do it, LCW will too. I will not settle for anything less than GOLD. LCW has put in 110% training effort for this - he will not be robbed.

    Yeah, Rafa's fighting spirit is so impressive to defeat five times Wimbledon champ FedEx. Looking forward to watch the dream final of two best in tennis and badminton for upcoming Beijing Games : Federer vs Nadal and Lin D vs Lee C W.

    It's OK to lose in the OG08 if LCW put up a good fighting spirit like Nadal. I really admire this Nadal, his on-court spirit reminds me of our Hero FooKokKeong. These are the people who inspire me to work harder. I hope LCW will be like Nadal...

    Month ago, I would simply rubbished off the "dream final of LD vs LCW" but after the Winbledon Final, I hope our own "wimbledon" will stage at the biggest sports event in the world. Let's hope for the wimbledon showdown and the fans will remember for the rest of their lives :)

    Msia Boleh... :p

    With expectations so high and the pressure so stifling, the OG badminton event is likely to be more of a Tremble-don than anything else :p

    Are U suggesting that there was no pressure or expectation on the Wimbledon's dream final? ;) I believe that the real champion (like Nadal) will rise to occassions albeit all the hypes n high expectations. Let's all hope LCW will do the "Nadal"... :p:D

    LCW = Nadal ???

    Nadal's left arm bicep is probably bigger than LCW's head.:rolleyes: Not to mention all the major titles that Nadal has won so far... what has LCW accomplished that is even comparable to Nadal.:rolleyes::confused:

    If we look at the events prior to this coming Olympics, it seems like we are looking at an 'even' competition with LCW having as much a chance as LD who was the ultimate player.

    LCW, since his loss to Sony in the World Championship, has turned a new 'page' and seemed to have stepped up. It almost appears like he has learned from his embarassment and is keen not to be 'poked' again by his fans (especially the fickle-minded ones). We have seen him win multiple SS's since and who would say with authority that they don't fear playing him these days. Think again and try to remember whether there is any time that we have blamed him since that inauspicious loss to Sony.

    LCW owes his change to continuous fitness training and guidance from his coach and mentor Misbun. Somehow, Misbun has himself a new life with this capable charge. They seemed to work like the 'ying and the yang' - each helping one another to perfect badminton. Misbun seemed to enjoy his camaderie with LCW and vice versa.

    LCW is a force to reckon with today -- no two ways about this. His speed is blinding (equalling if not excelling LD's, I am sorry BAO loses out here); he has acquired the skills to read and analyse his opponents' moves now (through incessant training from Misbun, a master strategist -- most of you would have seen Misbun hard at work jotting down notes during LCW's games and passing his observations to LCW - the communication has worked).

    If you look at LCW's games, it is very fluent - he is no longer rushed. His patience to play according to a strategy is his biggest forte today. His physical fitness has allowed him to do this - no longer, does he need to do trick shots which normally get him in trouble (typical trademarks of tiredness - Hafiz shows that character frequently).

    With the ying and the yang flowing, it is no longer a question whether he will win - it is more of what colour (and I suspect GOLD!).

    Few days ago I read an article (The Star). Our chief coach YapKH was so confident that his comrades will bring back at least ONE medal. The question is: What color? :eek::D

    Yes, he told me so recently... haha... :p:D Msia Boleh...

    Ferderer f'd up on this one. wouldn't compare the pair. lol. tennis players are more muscular than badminton players due to the weight of racket.

    unfortunately the Olympic badminoton isnt played with traditional style, ie OSS. The combatants would finish the match with lots of energy left. Under OSS, a close match would see both players barely standing near the end.

    In wimbledon MS final today, speed, power, stroke skill, and stamia were all taxed to each individual's limit. Nadal basically broke federer down at the end. Federer's last shot was a weak shot into the net.

    LCW is no Nadal

    Am not pouring cold water on your parade but sorry, dude, LCW is no Nadal. Infact LCW is nowhere near Rafael Nadal. The man has 29 titles to his name todate and he is only 22. Won 4 French Open titles 4 years in the row.

    Yes, yes LCW can use Nadal's victory as an inspiration, however I am afraid LCW do not have the mental strength, determination nor the maturity of Nadal to overcome adversity.

    The Olympic game is a big tournament and LCW, I am sorry will breakdown when the going gets tough.

    For those who think LCW is no Nadal, you are right. LCW will beat the hell out of Nadal on a badminton court. haha ... small joke

    Actually, Federer was very impressive also. To have an epic final, you need two epic players.

    We are now (mas supporters, especially LCW's) strongly believe that LCW will make it to final of OG. So do LD's.
