No i disagree. Putting effort means grabbing 2nd set when they tied and to force a decider. 21-15 in straight sets means you were clueless.

meanwhile saina took the first game 21-13.
looks like she has worked a lot on her cross defence. .almost every straight smash from cheung ngan yi was sent back cross by saina. .interesting.

Another upset detected again. Earlier on a lower ranked Japanese MD won against world ranking no 4 Chai Biao / Hong Wei. Now comes another lower ranked Japanese MD who won against a higher ranked China MD. Unbelievable. This year WC is just full of upsets. Like it or not I really have to accept the fact that the Japanese players have really improved a lot.

But then you must be very happy today. Saina Nehwal is surely going to win today. I feel happy for Saina Nehwal too for winning today's game.

a good straight games victory for saina 21-13, 21-9 against cheung. takahashi would be a tougher competition so she needs to play a perfect game in the next match.
her game looks good. .as always good net play, cross defence has improved. .first match of the tournament so can't judge to what extent has she worked on her weaknesses.

'Symbol of Peace' mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen may take this in straight sets.

Good showing by Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong booting out the defending MD champ with an early exit, and that in two convincing straight sets going by the score. The biggest upset of the round.
