Key to play taller player is to play flat, quick exchange, mighty drop, netting, cross-court ala Ratchanok. None of INA players can do that . Easy for me to say. Good to see Morten Frost and Hendrawan giving advice to Lim Yin Fun... Hendrawan is taking over coaching LCW too....
I am so happy to see Hendrawan so animated giving advice.... cool... hidup INA. He is talking in Bahasa and MF in English
If INA goes to the next round as leader of the group C, how would the team fare vs. likely runners up : Korea, Thai, and Chinese Taipei?
The lineup for today is already out. Yesterday, the adcocks played 3 events but today they are only playing last in XD. What is England's intent? They went all-out yesterday and still lost to the Dens?
Suprisingly, GER edged up vs. THA. GER should advance to the Qtr final. GER and KOR are for sure runners up and TPE will still play JPN to decide 1st & 2nd in that group.
When will Hendrawan taking over coaching INA MS and maybe WS again ? I hope it happens not after 2016
Hendrawan likes to stick around in MAS now Morten Frost takes over. Besides, he would very much love to train and coach LCW to win his Olympic title in 2016.
Hendrawan already did coaching in MS during year 2007 when he coached Sony to beat LCW in 3rd round on WC 2007, remember...?
interesting. both Lin Dan and Hendrawan were students of Tang Xianhu (湯仙虎), traditionally they should address him as Coach or Master (師傅). Now, since Hendrawan is coaching LCW, it's good manner for LCW to address Lin Dan as Master Uncle (or 師叔) with head bowed. how much would i paid to witness that!
Indonesian badminton = Chinese Indonesian. To name a few, back from the days in the 50's and 60's with Ferry Sonneville, Tan Joe Hok, 70's and 80's with Rudy Hartono, Lim Swie King, 90's to 2000's with Susi Susanti, Alan Budikusuma, Candra Wijaya, Tony Gunawan, Hendrawan. They took gold, silver and bronze in MS at the first badminton Olympic in 1992 and it was all Indonesian Chinese affair (Alan, Ardy and Hermawan). Turning point was in 1998 when many Chinese fled for their lives (Indonesia being the country that killed most Chinese living overseas following 1966 and 1998 killings), some were discriminated in favor of the native players by PBSI officials , and Tang Xianhu's Indonesian citizen application was rejected despite being born and raised in Indonesia. Some stupid things that the past government and PBSI officials did seriously affect Indonesia's badminton and you can see right now they are no longer powerhouse. Some have left for greener pasture, playing and coaching for other nations, and now they still have Setiawan and Natsir, but Indonesian badminton will never be the same if they can't see why they were there at the first place. It's their champions' with their hardworking and fighting spirit thriving to be the best, heart of steel, never give up and reach to the top attitude, giving blood, sweat and tears that the Chinese Indonesian had in the past.
well, this is interesting but it was too far too big to re-talk. Don't open it back because what we knew was clear enough that lot of politic and social background around the story. what I knew, Indonesian celebrate chinese new year for national holiday since 2001 or (I dont know exactly), it means a lot for indonesian coming from chinese ethnic. it was open for everything, they dont need to change their name, and the big point is they have same right as Indonesian. Then now, you could not raise it back as excuse for what indonesian badminton reach for these recent years. since the open era, people from all races could join to bring back the glory for badminton Indonesia. Some legend such as Susi, Rudy Hartono, Hadinata etc stand up back and drive the PBSI.
