Our young double pairs still havent reached the standard to be on par with other top pairs. The fact is, we are still depending on our veteran pair, CTF/LWW. What will happen after both of them retire from badminton arena?
Vietnam is having their national chess contest at Manila, see below CHESS Blitz Men: 1. Nguyen Ngoc Truongson (Vie), 2. Nguyen Anh Dung (Vie), 3. Le Quang Liem (Vie). Women: 1. Hoang Thi Bao Tram (Vie), 2. Nguyen Quynh Ahn (Vie), 3. Nguyen Thi Thanh An (Vie).
that`s so INCREDIBLE!!!!I`m very disappointed abt LCW... How abt WMC?Did she win??? And how abt eei hui/pei tty????Can any one told me as soon as possible??
Hmm...today's results are simply perfect! (if they were of course officially results). So far, the only confirmed winners are Sony and Simon.
Official results of the semi-final matches MEN'S SINGLES Sony Dwi Kuncoro bt Muhd Hafiz Hashim 15-11, 15-1 Simon Santoso vs Lee Chong Wei 15-11, 15-9 MIXED DOUBLES Nova Widianto/Lilyana Natsir bt Hendry Saputra Kurniawan/Li Yujia 15-8, 15-4 Anggun Nugroho/Yunita Tetty bt Koo Kien Keat/Wong Pei Tty 15-9, 15-5 So 2 gold medals assured....and if the men's doubles are also all-Indonesian final as what Caloy told us, make that 3.
What happened to Malaysia Men's team? I think for the team match, Indonesia team just let Malaysia to win. Malaysia only know shouting "Boleh" Betul ker semua boleh?
"Let"??? I dun't think so. Team Malaysia deserves its victory in the team event because in terms of overall quality, they are more balanced than Team Indonesia. Hafiz, Choong Hann, and Tan Fook/Wan Wah were all on form that day. The tables were however turned today, with all the matches ended in Team Indonesia's favor. For one thing, I never expected both Simon and Sony to win their respective matches. The doubles win were kinda expected. For mixed, it was touch and go. I guess Anggun/Yunita have more experience by now and also deserved their guaranteed silver medal. Tomorrow's focus will turn to the women side, with Wong Meow Choo facing Adrianti Firdasari and Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui facing Jo Novita/Greysia Polii. Firda is definitely on form, having won all 5 matches so far. WMC has a higher chance, but, I hope Firda will win. Meanwhile, its 50-50 between Wong/Chin vs Jo/Greysia. Wong/Chin has a poor record in finals, with no win I believe. Jo/Greysia should be able to handle them after taking care of Saralee/Sathinee tonight. Hopefully, Team Indonesia can achieve a clean sweep of all 5 medals.
Let? I dont think Indonesia team will ever do that. Malaysia team still has its strength and i think that the players WCH, Hafiz and CTF/LWW performed well on that day, just like Sigit's comments.
Malaysia has the track record of doing better in team than individual events. This was especially true in during the era of Sidek Brothers. BTW, can anybody provide the full results of all semi-final matches?
Other official results WOMEN'S SINGLES Wong Meow Choo bt Li Li 11-8, 11-0 Adrianti Firdasari bt Salakjit Ponsana 11-6, 7-11, 13-12 (that's a bloody close ending to the match...luck is obviously with Firda ) -- the SEA Games definitely is her best tournament so far, with victories over opponents mostly all ranked above her (Salakjit, Li Li, Xing Aiying). Hopefully, Hendrawan's dream of a gold medal from the supposedly weak link (women's singles) can be realized! MEN'S DOUBLES Luluk Hadiyanto/Alven Yulianto bt Choong Tan Fook/Wong Choong Hann 15-9, 15-2 Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan bt Chan Chong Ming/Koo Kien Keat 15-13, 15-13 (close game ) WOMEN'S DOUBLES Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui bt Jiang Yanmei/Li Yujia 15-8, 15-2 Jo Novita/Greysia Polii bt Saralee Thungthongkam/Sathinee Chankrachangwong 15-8, 17-15
