Actually without Lin Dan, I don't think Chinese MS is that strong. Yang Yang and Zhao Jianhua's successors like Dong Jiong, Sun Jun, XXZ and Chen Hong were good but didn't dominate like LD, YY and ZJH. LD's teamates like BCL, CY, CJ were just good players but not super yet. So unless China develops another LD, they may have trouble keeping the TC after LD retires.
hey, mind you.. wong choon hann is still here.. don't forget his service.. he contributed a lot to us and i appreciate it.. right now, i support LCW and WCH in men singles.
i support LCW and WCH too, but we are looking at a future with no new strong contender. i hope hafiz could take over but he has been very inconsistent. and the younger player might have potential but until they have some experience under their belt, we wont have a successor in MS.
yes i noe choon hann is still around... but dun tell me ur gonna put all da burden on him like we are doin wit CW now..
Well...Peter Gade did dominate MS in late 90s, early 2000s so asians didn't always dominate badminton.
yeah, peter gade is one of the gems from europe. and i see US taking part in badminton now and maybe, just maybe, this will get the ball rolling. i wonder why europe, where the game originated, dont have many top players. this is like sepak takraw. originated in malaysia, correct me if i am wrong, but now thailand is the powerhouse of sepak takraw. i would love to see more europe and asian top players battling it out. that would make badminton stand out more and gain world wide popularity.
