Japan Open. Go Ronald Go....haha.. But I pip Hafiz and Lin Dan final. In form guys. Hopefully there are on each half of the draw. rgds
Ronald hasnt been performing well lately . Given his draw of meeting LCW in the 1st round, think he cant secure this title this yr... Anyway, all the best to him !
is it me or did the english singles players all get harsh draws for this tournament? Aamir Ghaffar drawn against Lin Dan, Nicolas Kidd drawn against Chen Hong and Andrew Smith drawn against Ng Wei. How demoralising can it get.. come on Nathan and Gail! come on Anthony and Donna for that matter, after running Nathan and Gail close last weekend it might be that Anthony and Donna are a force to be reckoned with as well.. we'll see PS most bizarre mens double pairing.. Anthony Clark of England with Nugroho Anggunn of Indonesia.. Guessing old man archer is injured again..
Not informative I just checked out the Japan Open website, it seems like there is no way we can get the latest results or have I missed out the livescore information?
Its not you only. Theres no way I can check out the results of the match too. Yeap,Go Ronald Go! I think Ronald has been performing quite well for Thailand Open. He should be regaining his form. All the best Ronald!
6* tournament, a hi-tech country ... I don't know why their website don't have live scores ... Ronald's first match will be against Lee Chong Wei. Unlucky for both of them.
Susilo is unseeded, so can meet any of seeds...shame he didn't meet Lin Dan again. He is the defending champion, but that doesn't help you get a seeding.
Correction. It is a 5* tournament, not 6*. But it does not excuse the fact that I still don't know the results.
i suppose there is page for results becos i saw that there was, but when i clicked on it, appeared some tables and lists in japanese, so i dun get it
No big surprises in the qualifying round. My relief is that Wong Mew Choo advanced safely to the main draw. Other Malaysians who qualified are Gan Teik Chai/Abdul Latif and Gan Teik Chai/Fong Chew Yen. The others (all 3 MS - Salim Sameon, Pei Wei Chung and Yogendran, Lim Pek Siah/Ang Li Peng - when will we have a reliable second WD? - and M. Sutheaswari - when will we have a reliable second WS?) all lost. Elsewhere, Gong Weijie, Lee Cheol Ho, Niu Jiaping (Chn) and Yohan Hadikusuma advanced. Jiang Yanjiao, Lu Lan, Chie Umezu and Zhu Lin also advanced. Zhu Lin defeated Lee Yun Hwa. Francisca Ratnasari (Ina) also failed losing to Ai Goto (Jpn) In MD, both the Indonesian pairs advanced with Andersen/Lamp and Hwang Ji Man/Han Sang Hoon. In WD, Yonekura partnered Imabeppu to defeat Ha Jung Eun/Park Soo Hee to get to the main draw. Lu Lan/Jiang Yanjiao also advanced. Finally in the XD, Zheng Bo/Huang Sui advanced together with Njoto/Wang Chen.
Qualification results updated Quick analysis of todays qualifications : MX (http://www.u-netsurf.ne.jp/nichiba/2005/yoj/exdq.htm) Jung Jae Sung/Lee Kyung Won were knocked out by (unknown?) japanese pair (Yamashita/Hikichi) Wang Chen qualified playing with Njoto (unusual to see her in MX) No surprise Zheng Bo and Huang Sui also made it to the main draw... MS (http://www.u-netsurf.ne.jp/nichiba/2005/yoj/emsq.htm) No notable surprise. Yohan Wiratama had to go through the qualifications. So did youngsters Gong Weijie and Lee Cheol Ho. All other qualifiers are japanese except chinese Niu Jiaping (who is he?). WS (http://www.u-netsurf.ne.jp/nichiba/2005/yoj/ewsq.htm) Favourites got through, including Wong Mew Choo, Chie Umezu, Lu Lan, Jiang Yanjiao... Interesting to note that all indo girls failed to qualify though. MD (http://www.u-netsurf.ne.jp/nichiba/2005/yoj/emdq.htm) In form Gan Teik Chai and Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif logically qualified. So did the Danes Michael Lamp and Rasmus Mangor Andersen. Two indo pairs qualified, with Karel Mainaky in one and Reoni Mainaky on the other. (I can't remember exactly, are they Rexy and Marleve's younger brothers?) WD (http://www.u-netsurf.ne.jp/nichiba/2005/yoj/ewdq.htm) Mainly japanese pairs here. Tracey Hallam also qualified with Nathalie Munt. Usual WS players, youngsters Lu Lan and Jiang Yanjiao qualified together too.
Well, I missed out this biggie. Last week, when they lost to Saputra/Li, I noted that mixed doubles is indeed a specialised event, and that being good in MD or WD does not neccessarily mean you can carry that over easily to the XD. But this has to be a very big upset.
Unless these Japanese are the new upcoming stars in their country!... ... Never heard of them anyway!
Yes, they are. However, I'm not sure if they actually are in the Indonesian national team though, probably they have their own sponsor just like Marleve Mainaky. So, as far as I know, here is the Mainaky's family: 1. Richard Mainaky 2. Marleve Mainaky 3. Rexy Mainaky 4. Reoni Mainaky 5. Karel Mainaky The order is probably off a little bit.
