Very true. Indonesia has maintained its edge in MD since the 60s, whereas Malaysia is struggle to hold good form, much of our spirit was lost and has yet to be regained. Nonetheless, we continue to fight on (on court and in forum) .....
Indeed...our MDs create upsets after upsets in Japan 2008. Considering that there's only a quota of max 3 pairs for the next Olympics, its gonna be a headache if we do have 4-5 pairs in the top 10 by 2012. I think Bona/Ahsan are showing promises with their recent showings (QF finishes in GP Golds and SS, and now SF in Japan SS). Rian/Yoke also reach their first SS SF by beating the World and Olympics Champions....that's really a good performance by them today. I won't be losing sleep over Kido/Hendra's loss today...they are probably rusty...after the celebrations over the past mth. They should be back to form next week...hopefully with another title in China However, time's up for AG/Joko. The warning bells have been sounded and they are the worst performing MD so far. Get the knife out....
go rian/yonatan!!! it's good to know that Indonesia have another promising MD..hope they keep their good work and hope they can hold gold tradition in London olympics..
wow there's a new doubles giant in the making for Indonesia. Well done! Also good result from the Malaysian ladies WPT/CEH. Boleh!
Compared to MD INA and MAS, Intersting fact, MAS has collected much MD titles in World Junior, CCM got twice, TBS twice too (if I'm not wrong). While INA never got any title after 1st WJC. Double is more created by good training rather than natural talent, so its mean INA had better Double champs to produce some titles in big event like Olympics or WC. Actually MAS has tried in several ways by hired Park Jo Bong until Rexy. Don't know why BAM failed to create the bright junior to be bright senior. I can say thay Junior training system in Malaysia is very good beside have National Junior also have BJSS. In INA, Junior developmen is depend on big club's effort.
Hmmm.. ...Out of so many players/pairs in the QF (11 players/pairs, with 3 of them having had to face each other) INA will have 6 players/pairs remaining in the Semis. With a maximum chance of having 5 players/pairs advancing to the Finals. Not quite a disaster, yet, but we'll see by the end of tonight/today. ..who's the new (men's) doubles giant for INA??..has the pair won any major tourneys, yet??.. Btw, i noticed the last 6-7 pages of this thread. It was, literally, (100%) covered by all the INA fans, esp. after the MAS' WD pair played. Good to see as we haven't seen that in a while...and i guess we'll see more of it tonight/today.....C'mon M'sia fans, bring the noise for the Semis!
hmm...i think this is a historical day for bc...did any quater final of any tourney hit 1k post????...hmm....i dont think that all the post are quality...
^^Re 1,000+ posts in a QF round thread..^^ ...just a wild hunch, i think it has been accomplished before. You've got to check this yr's (or maybe even last yr's) tournaments' sub-forum, though.
How do you start a theard ? I really want to know.I envy you guys, because you can start a thread.I am jealous
Sandy, trust me on this, it is not about the training. The training possibly matches the best training Indonesia can have or better. Funding is definitely better. It is about having the right spirit and mental preparation to succeed. Our best players come short on that, our not so highly ranked players have the right spirit but lack technical abililty. Indonesia has the edge on this because at every level (even for day to day living), the people struggle more and thus their mental ability against adversity is much better.
Hmm.. ...is this still holds true??...(INA won 2 titles after having 11 players/pairs represented in the QF)
