Hi everyone here, Wish i had found this forum when i was in Japan. only played once at my uni during my 5years there. Anyway, i think Miyuki-san is being a great help by making any newcomer in japan feel at home. Hope to drop by here more often. remo
Hi,Bruno I am sorry. If I could reply soon, you played maybe... If you have a chace to stay in Tokyo, let me know again. Let's play badminton with BF members in Tokyo. Take care of your trip to Boston! Miyuki
Hi,Remo Thank you for your comment. I have been here for 5 years. I belieave that I could reply a mail to all people once at least. It was hard for me to make and type sentenses in English. It took 1hours to make 3 lines sentenses 5 years ago. I could improve my English level because all people here help me as a English teacher, haha. Actually,I couldn't help a few cases.Especially, when I was too busy in my work. I hope more people help newcomer in Japan with me. Miyuki
Hello everyone!! Im coming to japan next year, in februari. And i hope that there is any good place to play at will bring all my gear and hope for the best ^^ Going to be in japan for 1 month so i guess i got alot of time to play Stefan from sweden
Hey Miyuki, Its looking like im staying around Matsudo, Havnt booked an apartment yet but i will do that around the 1th januari. Wanted a place closer to akihabara (im a video game nerd) and matsudo was the closest i found haha. Any good club nearby? If there is then i should bring my badminton gear with me Stefan
Matsudo, Chiba Though I have never lived there, Matsudo is good area to play badminton. According to the city's badminton association web site, they just had Matsudo Open(named "Azalea Open" on Dec 23rd) and it seems they have tournaments almost every month !! Check this site and you had better contact city's badminton association and get club info. Good luck. http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~matsudo_badminton_association/schedule.html Here is a list of registered badminton clubs in Matsudo, some of which have their web site links. Hope you can read Japanese. http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~matsudo_badminton_association/club.html
Thanks alot! i will check out the pages sadly i cant read katakana or kanji yet, but i got some friends that can translate it for me How is the level on badminton?
Matsudo There seems to be four or five levels in each tournaments. So unless you are a national champion or professional, you will not have trouble to find your suitable level, I'm sure. However, As you are staying in Japan just for a month or so, my anxiety is that you may not be welcomed to join in local club team, and that there are not many places you can play walk-in basis. You had better contact Miyuki-san or somebody to be ready to play as soon as you arrived. F.Y.I. on Feb 14th they will have tournament(individual) and its deadline is Feb 3rd, to which you may join without being belonged to a club team.
cool.. I'll be in Tokyo on the 8th Jan for a week. Any game there nearest to Shiba-Koen Subway Station? Tks.
Shiba-Koen, Minato-ku, Tokyo In Japan, Year End and New Year's last/first week are crazy busy and irregular schedules in business/school/private/local, so is badminton club. If you cannot search Japanese badminton club info(mostly written in Japanese) by yourself right now, it's hard for you to play during the week of Jan 8th. If you can read Japanese, it is easy to find through web site. Here are a few of them; http://www.h2.dion.ne.jp/~tak70/ http://www.shibuya-badminton.ne.jp/club.htm If you cannot read/speak Japanese, at least you should have somebody in Japan who can help you to contact to clubs before your arrival. I'm not your person as I'm not in Japan. From Shiba-Koen, you can access to a place not only in Minato-ku district, but also in the other 22 districts easily by bus/train/subway. So you have more than a hundred options to choose a place to play. But you had better hurry. Good luck.
cool... are the yonex bg66 strings cheaper there? How much it is if lets say I buy 10 boxes or 100 pieces? Can help to check? Thanks.
how do i know if the clubs are any good? seems mean to mail a club and ask if they know a good club haha :')
Any badminton hall and email nearest to Shiba-Koen Subway Station? Any japanese people reading this? Thanks.
Hi, we can play on Jan 9th in Shibuya. Japanese people may read this, but I have never seen Japanese who write here. If not, I will check some my friend club near Shiba-koen. Let me know your level and when you can. Miyuki
Hello Miyuki, Great stuff. Thanks. I believe I am in advance level. I will be staying in Celestine hotel. You have a phone number? You can PM me your number or add me in facebook. See you then! tks.
