They're showing Ohtsuka/Yamamoto vs. Blair/Munt right now. I'm just amazed to see badminton on American television! It's great to see badminton highlighted. This match seems to be a good contest, even though I know the outcome. Bravo to NBC for showing badminton!
Yeah, I just watched that , too. I thought Japan was going to win...... that's a little disapponting....
Kwun, I'm in Northern California too, but I have satellite. So the Bravo I'm watching is probably the Eastern Bravo.
That's the only one showed today, but tomorrow's schedule will be in here: http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=17544 It seems like they will show the Lin Dan's match tomorrow.
Yes it's supposed to be at 5pm. But they're in a different time zone. We're probably going to be seeing a different match or maybe the same match?
we are almost the last timezone to get the match... .duh. but the broadcast is nice, very refreshing. the commentators seems more tentative than the players.
The commentating is not bad, they seem to try to promote badminton in US, they also compare the speed of birdie, to tennis ball, baseball, etc.
i actually like the commentation. i think they will get better as the matches goes on. the camera angles are ok. the hall is quite empty though.
finds it strange to have badminton commentators with american accents. but i think i will get used to it.
I thought the camera angle was maybe a bit too high, but I still like it. The commentating was fine. It wasn't too in the way. I like commentating more when I can focus on the match and the commentating stays in the background.
