Hello, I finally had the opportunity to be recorded while I play and I was wondering if some of you could give me some advices on what's wrong with my game, please, especially in singles. I think my main problem is a lack of length. Background : I've been playing badminton for 4-5 years, I struggle with singles and don't have the opportunity to play them regularly because the courts are always filled by doubles in my club. Also, there was no coach in the clubs I used to play in, so I've been mainly practicing doubles with no training since I've started badminton. This is my first (single) tournament since 2019. Thank you very much for any advice! I keep losing while I think it could have turned differently but I don't know what I have to change to finally get results. Here are two videos of singles : (I'm the guy in black shirt with yellow shoes on the videos) I lose 18-21 and 18-21 www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=8870&v=1QHYY8R8dD8&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fplaybad.fr%2F&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo I lose 13-21 / 23-21 / 9-21 www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3695&v=1QHYY8R8dD8&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fplaybad.fr%2F&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo Also if you have a bit more time here's a double game I've lost. It was the first time I've played with this partner. We lost : 13-21 and 15-21 I still wear yellow shoes but have a blue/orange shirt www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=11362&v=cKmBIQxNpMM&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fplaybad.fr%2F&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo
Footwork could be faster. Overhead action is inefficient technique. 1. When you are being moved around the court, when you are off balance, it’s difficult for you to hit a good clear to give yourself time to recover. 2. It’s easy to read your overhead shots.
