Ah well, losing Djarum as sponsors would be tantamount to the extinction of the Djarum Girls. Surely that cannot happen, the extinction, I mean. Talking about the Djarum Girls, you guys will just have to await longer for pics. My housing estate is engulfed in darkness now - no electricity.
abedeng, where are the rest of the (really important!!! ) pictures??? Stop teasing us!!:crying::crying:
LCW was spotted eating Nasi Padang at Garuda restaurant in Sabang Road at 7pm on Sunday. He went there with fellow Malaysians...
That's the plan, Cheung.... Djarum went all out since last year to make INA Open SSP an awesomely popular tournament (especially by 2013) so that INA Open is so highly desired by other top sponsors... Whether it is Li Ning or BCA or Adidas or Bank Mandiri or whatever... And yes, the top personalities like Anang [singer and composer], Shahrani [Anang's new singer girlfriend], Donita [MTV VJ], Nidji [famous pop-group], Sandra Dewi [Unilever model and actress], Butet [culture icon], etc. will be there.....
I just want to share my amateur videos during DIOPSS 2011, and some recorded matches from TV. Please visit my channel : www.youtube.com/user/benoznet
Unfortunately, those names mean nothing to me, but if they look good, please introduce me! (to the girls only!!)............I need more photos for badmintoncentral hehe Do those personalities come because they are interested in the game or for other reasons? And please say thank you to Djarum for their efforts from me, even though I am only a tiny drop in the badminton world and mean nothing to them.
I googled BCA and got this BCA and so was a bit surprised. Digging a bit more and I think you mean this...right?
PART 5: Solibad (Badminton Without Borders) The really, really, important pics are coming ...... soon. But first, let us talk about Solibad. Yup, Solibad as usual opened a booth here. With the assistance of their, err, brand ambassadors, Solibad generated some revenue by selling (or rather auctioning) autographed shirts .... Was going for the one signed by Taufik Hidayat, too bad I didn't have spare change then. So just a few XXX thousand rupiahs of donation will have to do. Pics here: A very very important collector's item, I am sure. The Solibad booth Solibad T-shirts for sale, with signatures from many players ..... (TO BE CONTINUED)
Well, most Indonesians [ages 30+] grew up with one TV channel: TVRI [the state owned TV station]... and the best show on TVRI between 1971-1991 was 'live badminton' broadcast and 'Muhammad Ali' matches... Going to Istora and supporting the Indonesian players is like re-living good memories... Also, I would not be surprised if some of 'em just wanna be seen to show their adoring public that they are nationalistic [always a good selling point among Indonesian pop-stars]... Here's some clips about the INA Open spectators on youtube... [video=youtube;8eG4MF-aKUM]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eG4MF-aKUM&feature=related[/video]
[video=youtube;pe4T-WuNwg0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pe4T-WuNwg0[/video] Some video maker was inspired by Indonesia's badminton passion... This youtube video is surely not created by Djarum... Note to Cheung: hey there are some good looking Indonesian women in this video
Yes, Bank Central Asia. This bank biggest shareholder is now Djarum(maybe more than 40%, it is public listed company unlike Djarum) So it does not mean Djarum can't sponsor the tournament. It is just that they can not advertise their cigarette brand. They can advertise their other brand. But if the title sponsor is BCA, I guess the money has to come from BCA budget. It maybe a long shot but who knows it maybe D'Cost Seafood Indonesia Open Premier SS ?
PART 6: Finally, Time To Enjoy .......... ..... the atmosphere inside the arena. You didn't think I would say "Djarum Girls", did you? The Istora is one of the few Asian arenas that follow the European style of lighting. Which is to mean, to light up only the playing arena during play. Very good contrast, makes for a more enjoyable action. Why we don't follow it in Malaysia, I don't know ...... Here are pictures of the Arena. Sorry, some images may be a bit blurry, but it's for the best, I assure you ...... : The flags of participating nations aloft Djarum Dance Troup doing their thing The place where Gill Clark sniffs and sneezes on live TV Djarum Dance Troup doing their thing, again ..... DIO Mascots making fools of themselves Such a nice ambience of lighting ..... A group of die-hard Malaysian supporters were placed on my right during the finals. Their shouts of "Lee Chong Wei!!" were drowned out by the, ahem, "furious" Indonesians shouting "Peter!!!!". But it could not stop their joy as the World No 1 shows his class ...... in the end, the Indonesian crowd had to concede by shouting "In-do-ne-sia!!!!!" as the match drew to it's conclusion. Pics here: 1 to 5, Malaysian fans show their joy .... The object of their desire raises his arm in triumph ...... (TO BE CONTINUED)
Yes indeed. I knew this is the right choice, 'cos the SIA flight crew stayed here too ...... premium brand too, rite? Of course, you pay a premium. But not too bad. All-England is one of the best two, huh? Well, I have been to All-England Premier Super Series, not a scrap of advertisement of this tournament anywhere in Birmingham City Centre. You'd find more on Birmingham Canal instead. The only thing better at the All-England was the ticketing. Even food was a problem there, booths were too small and limited.
Sometimes the city may have bylaws which restrict advertising on the streets. In a badminton mad country, such restrictions can probably be overcome quite easily. Mods privilege, hehe
