Likely Men single last 16 schedule:1) Axelsen vs Ng tze Yong 2) Shi yuqi vs Ginting 3) Chou TC vs Lee CY 4) Jonatan vs Lu GZ 5) Ng KL vs Loh KY 6) Kunlavut vs Antonsen 7) Srikhan vs Lee ZJ 8) Momota vs Lakshya.
I would like to predict an all MAS MS final with LD creating an upset in round 1 like LKY did last year. Not impossible.
Quarter final-1) Axelsen vs Shi yuqi 2) Chou tc vs Jonatan 3) Loh KY vs Kunlavut 4) Momota vs LZJ Semi final - Axelsen vs Chou tc, Momota vs Kunlavut. Final- Axelsen vs Momota.
Btw, whats the quarter, semis, and final starting time in japan? 12pm or 1pm? Also those new yonex black shoes seems nice. What model is that? It has a combo bright colours with the black. Ardianto wearing in Sg open. Got ladies? Lining one worn by yeo jia min also nice. Which model nicer for lady?
Just saw the draw for MS today. I haven't really been paying attention to the WC yet. What a draw for Viktor. His toughest opponent in his bracket is maybe CTC and Ginting. Shi Yuqi hasn't played competitive international badminton for almost a year, so I doubt he is a threat. And Jonathan Christie is out of form so I don't think he is a threat either. This is Viktor's bracket to lose. All the other major threats for Viktor are in the other half of the bracket. First up is LKY. If LKY has another run like the last WC, watch out. Also, LZJ is another threat to Viktor, also in the other half of the bracket. Laksha Sen, while I wouldn't put him above Viktor, is probably a top MS 5 player and can go deep if he has a good tournament. There is Kento Momota and Antonsen in this same half of the bracket, but they are not in their best form so I expect both to get knocked out at some point. All in all, if Viktor doesn't mess this up and if he doesn't get injured, he should at least get to the finals and get a silver medal this WC. Viktor can't get a better draw than this.
Momota may be whipped by one of the 2 indians if they are on form that day. LakshA Sen will pull him 3 games to tire momota. I doubt nty can go far. Too much publicity, opponents are taking notice. Tsune will grind him rubber games if nty beat ina. Lky got easier luck in 1st n 2nd round.
I would say. Pv Sindhu allowed gjw to play well. First at the group stage when she was leading by such a high margin in the first game. Then in the 2nd game gjw got such confidence that she even felt dissapointed when losing it. Then even in the individual tournament, pv Sindhu had a lead in the first game and still let gjw win the first game. 3rd game she made it really hard for herself. If she actually trashed gjw in the group event, I dun think gjw would have posed such a threat in the individual event. I just feel pv Sindhu was not herself.
Okuhara withdraw from WC Posted @withregram • @okuharanozomi . . 世界選手権の出場を辞退することにしました。楽しみにしてくださっていた方にはとても残念なお知らせになってしまいました。今は回復に最善を尽くします! . . I have decided to withdraw from the World Championships 2022. It's a very disappointing news for those who were looking forward to it. I will do my best to recover now. Thank you all for your support. . 2022.8.19. 奥原希望
Doesn’t look good for future tournaments. Can she last until the next Olympics is the next big question?
Singapore's Yeo Jiamin joined the withdrawal party. Posted @withregram • @yeo_jiaminn All set for World Championships with new dresses sent from @lining.official However, I unfortunately will not be able to enter Japan to participate this year A little update: This week didn’t turn out the way I thought it would; catching covid again upon returning, recovering from it in time but my failed Pcr test meant that I would not be able to travel with the team today. Wishing my teammates the best at Worlds nonetheless, do send them your support!
Okuhara previously declared that this decision would be made after seeing how she performed at the WC....
