Two high-calibre MS, Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan had good start to eliminate their opening round rival. It's different case for another six remaining seeded players, they needed extra game to progress into last sixteen. Axelsen, Momota, Chou TC dropped first game before bounced back to clinch second round ticket. Tian HW got scary escape to edge past defending champion Srikanth, it's sad day for host India as none of their MS player advance into second round. R/16 intriguing ties will see Jan O Jorgensen v the in-form Chinese youngster Xue Song, Lee CW should take revenge over his DEN Premier losing against Wei Nan, Chou TC v recent AE semifinalist Hans Kristian Vittinghus and Tommy Sugiarto v Thailand number two Tanongsak.

A couple of close games at upper half of draw will pit Bae Yeon Jun v Yui Hashimoto and 8th seed Tai Tzu Ying v Akane Yamaguchi, the Japanese wonder teen battled hard to down well-improved US player Iris Wang yesterday, similar fashion to her older compatriot Hashimoto who experienced thrilling match against Lindaweni Fanetri. Straight-forward winning for all seeded players at bottom half, two Chinese ladies Wang Shixian will up against Sayaka Sato while Li Xuerui once again has former champion Porntip Buranaprasertsuk after recent All England second round meeting. Home favourite Saina Nehwal and Korean hopeful Sung Ji Hyun are favoured to check in last eight.

Another stern test awaits top-seed Chai B/Hong W, the Chinese played marathon match to knock out Astrup/Rasmussen yesterday and Indonesian back-up Gideon/Sukamuljo are their next hurdle. The notable encounters at this stage will see Kamura/Sonoda v Pratama/Suwardi, Chopra/Dewalkar v Kim GJ/Ki SR, last year beaten finalist Conrad/Kolding v Issara/Puangpuapech. Malaysian top-ranked Go VS/Tan WK who created first round minor upset to beat Li JH/Liu YC will take on second Chinese test Wang YL/Zhang W.

WD number one seed, Maheswari/Polii only spent 15 minutes on court to clear first hurdle and expected to pass second round as well. Their real test will begin on quarterfinal as one of Chinese combination will wait them, either Tang YT/Yu Y or Huang YQ/Tang JH. Netherlands pair Muskens/Piek v Korean #3 Go AR/Yoo HW should be interesting tie to follow. Two-time world junior champion Chen QC/Jia YF show their true talent, the Chinese young duo stunned 7th seed Chang YN/Lee SH yesterday and will take on Thai combo Kititharakul/Prajongjai next. Korean leading pair Jung KE/Shin SC get dangerous Japanese rival, last year WC bronze medalist Fukuman/Yonao, second seed Pedersen/Rytter Juhl will face INA second stringers, Awanda/Istirani for a place in last eight.

A big upset was delivered by current SUI Open champion Wang YL/Chen QC who disposed Dubai SS Finals champion Adcock/Adcock and will meet home pair Chopra/Reddy today. In the absence of some elite pairs, 2014 champion Fischer/Pedersen and Ko SH/Kim HN will be strong contender to top podium here, both of them will find Japanese underdogs, Sonoda/Fukuman and Kazuno/Kurihara respectively.

Wow, both seeded 6 of XD and MS were sent home by unseeded but former top 10 players. And in two sets as well. HKV against CTC 21-12, 21-12. Widianto/Dili over Lee/Chau 21-19, 21-15. Good result not very surprised though.

Lol how can Chou lose 12:21 and 12:21?? What a joke, I mean HKV seems back on track, but I don't think the scoreline should be this clear...

Suprising result of Lee/Chau, second upset today!

Vittinghus must be in good shape to tame Chou TC easily, no rubber games so far and finished under 45 minutes.

Tian HW had healthy lead at early stage of second game but the fighter Germany Marc Zwiebler catched up and sealed game 2 narrowly, 21-19.
