Not overly impressed with the result of Liu/Qiu. But Ivanov/Sozonov are no pushover either. Good to see that CB/HW as well as FHF/ZN are in pretty good form.

Holy Cow!France's Men Team just beat Chinese Taipei, I'm so happy! And winning the decisive doubles with 2 singles players against the number 5 pair in the world is just... WOW!

Good luck for the host team

Well well, it will be a fateful path if IND will have to again face CHN in QF. What to call it if twice proceed to QF of Uber Cup and both times must face the Great Wall prematurely...

IND must win over THA to avoid the formidable opponent in QF. And THA is a strong opponent with a well balanced line-up. IND team will need every winning point from her team, incl. the questionable WS3 and WD2... Saina will be the pivot point, if she wins, most likely the team will do as well.

Good luck for the HOST team :)

I just read the invitation letter and you're absolutely right. There will be a knockout draw formulated on the 21st of May as soon as the last match is over.

Congratz! If FRA can win over RUS then FRA team will make further history playing in the QF of Thomas Cup for the very first time :) i just rely on my memory about this record, don't check further but guess i'm right with the fact.

This is the best news to come from this tournament so far. Now, if results like this could happen more often, it'd be all the better for the sport of badminton.

Indeed, since it's the first time our men's team has ever qualified for the tournament^^Russians are gonna be tough though, but considering the morale boost from that huge win, we have a good chance.

Yeah..! Congrats! That's really a good news! Before the tournament I thought Russia was the one who had the big chance to make an upset against Chinese Taipei, higher than France. Turned out that France who could manage it. Yeah, this win should boost the morale of the France players against the Russians. Hopefully France could create the history this time. :)

very bad luck for Chinese Taipei team, both their men and women team lost to a weaker team.
Chinese Taipei has a much higher average quality, also a much higher team value, but still get beaten by a weaker team.
But, it's would certainly a great news for England and France, they will have a higher chances to get into the QF.

The knockout redraw causes NO advantage to top the group except for prestige only. For any team that already won twice and secured its place in QF, the 3rd match is a great occasion to experiment with certain line-up [as being done by India with the pairing of Saina/Sindhu].
