Unfortunately no, we'll wait until quarterfinal round when match will be televised. Poor coverage for this event considering badminton is still concentrated in Asia.
would be nice to see Queen Elizabeth stadium again. HK Open used to be there until they moved to a larger stadium. the QE stadium is quite unique.
Actually I can't understand why none of the better countries sending their A team. It is almost like if they were to send their A team, they can win. I understand that after all England it is Swiss open before this week. But let's say if i were BAM head coach, i would rather senf my players here than to swiss 300
aside from top players just came back from AE/Swiss, this is not a tournament that team emphasize on. it is ok to send the 'B' team to get some exposure and experience. furthermore, Olympic qual year is soon so don't over stress the top players as they will have a tough year to come.
Today's fixture practically will decide top and runner-up positions as six teams (CHN, INA, HKG, JPN, MAS, THA) already secure their spot in knock-out phase. Group B is exceptional case which offering twisting plot that SGP beat IND 3-2 yesterday. Japan and Hong Kong will play their first match following group A only comprises of two teams instead three as Korea skips this event. Just a check on group b: if the chinese taipei win by any score, they will go through with Singapore. If india win by 4-1 or 5-0, they will go through with Singapore. If india win by 3-2 ... Then a tie breaker of matches and points will be needed, am i right? That would be interesting
3-1, China secures group D winner. Lu Guangzu is the highest ranked of CHN B-listers, sadly his capability is still far from convincing, lost easily to WR #70 Cheam June Wei.
