To me, it'll be a pity not to see Lee Zii Jia in the World Tour Finals, for besides Loh Kean Yew, LZJ is the only other player who can take on Viktor Axelsen at the moment, in my opinion. Hopefully, LZJ can still get in at the eleventh hour if one of the top 8 qualifiers withdrew for whatever reasons. Talking about Loh Kean Yew, he is very unpredictable, you never know which LKY would turn up - the 2021 World Champion LKY who also kicked VA's butt at the Denmark Open or the run-of-the-mill version. And that adds excitement, uncertainty, suspense and entertainment value to the whole tournament. Even if he upsets VA once again en route to the final, there's no knowing who might emerge champion eventually. It'll be fun and suspenseful to watch.
Don't expect someone to get hurt and give up from WTF, my friend! Don't think of "Beating Viktor" when you cannot win Rhustavito, Zhao Jun Peng, Lu Guang Zu
Both Lee ZJ and Loh KY have same problem, too inconsistent. Perhaps badminton fans feel bored or saturated to witness Axelsen won all major and important individual events rampantly in this year but that's a fact, similar situation of Momota domination in 2019 or Chen Long in 2015, let alone the two maestros LD & LCW as they have another league and era.
Hope Prannoy participate in the WTF. I don't know why the whole indian contingent withdrew from Australian open. There was a chance for srikanth and Satwik/shetty duo to qualify for WTF. But it seems like they dont care Australian open and risk injury. And Sindhu is in long absence.
THE QUALIFIERS have been revealed : https://bwfworldtourfinals.bwfbadmi...onfirmed-for-hsbc-bwf-world-tour-finals-2022/ *Rahayu/Ramadhanti replace Matsuyama/Shida *Jomkoh/Paewsampran replace Watanabe/Higashino
For badminton fans that keep up to date with tournaments, it's honestly hard to take the World Tour Finals seriously when there's players outside the top 15 in world ranking competing in it. BWF should just invite the 8 highest ranked players in each discipline (no limit on # of representatives from one country).
Totally unflattering photographs. The BWF really needs to spend more resources on enhancing the 'visual appeal' of the sport. Do they actually employ a professional photographer?
Not only are the photos unappealing, the graphic itself is just straight up bland. There's an excess of red space which could be used to increase the size of the pictures, and they include some sort of more visually aesthetic design in the background. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk
They spend money in Africa and South America. It's how to make badminton develop these day. It's great to see our sport going like shi!
I dont know how they group players together, if they do it as usual, it would be 1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6,8. Then Viktor , Prannoy, Kodai and Gintimg would make s group and CTC, Christie, Lu Guangzu and LKY form a other group.
Looks like reporters are not up to date with the new changes https://www.thestar.com.my/sport/ba...ng-rules-for-tour-finals-may-need-an-overhaul
I think badmintonphoto is their OP but should be the designers that choose which from the choice of 'thousands' of photos they wanna use for these posters
The journalist tendency to expect BWF implements World Ranking to determine top-8 qualifiers instead of World Tour Ranking...
Although the new criteria is a good move, I like the fact that differently ranked players get a chance to gain ranking points. It will give a bit of variety to the world rankings next year.
