So you guys managed to find the one batch that will take less than 80% of what other people have found? Look, I’m sure your stringer is good, but if you use the same clamp setting for a .61, .65, and .69, there will be an issue somewhere. Either the thin string will slip, or the thick string will pinch until it snaps.
let me add something else, another of my racket went into stringing in the same session with bg80p and string turned out fine, yet ln5 didnt. rackets and stringing was monitored by swsh as i egg him to not leave the shop when my rackets are being done. he is literally there from morning to evening as my rackets go through the process. The rackets were done in the same session, same diameter, in my case same tension range only string lines were different. ln5 and bg80p.
The diameter of No.5 and BG80p isn't the same or close according to my experience with both strings and my mitutoyo micrometer. There could be alot of factors which take the result into the hands of the fortune instead of a faulty batch. BG80P is slightly thinner than BG80 and LN5 is thicker than BG65. I adjust my clamps for BG80 and BG65. The gap between BG80P and LN5 is higher, so IMO there is a clamp adjustment necessary. Starting routine, clamp is not always in line with the string which ditch the string, stringing routine like loose clamp before base, etc. buying a Protech 8 don't make you a super duper stringer like buying a Porsche don't make you an excellent driver. Strings are also sensitive to UV-Light, I don't know how and where you store etc...
except the machine is maintained directly by yonex, operated by the best possible stringer in the country(does stringing in all of PBL, indian Open superseries) and nearly 12 hrs is a lot less time for a string to get degraded by UV.
And even the best people can have a bad day and a lot of stress when a few punks camp day by day in their shop to wait for their stringing jobs. If the batch was really faulty alot more people would complain and you buy from well-known sources like e78 and mbs, right? So I wonder why we just hear from you and swsh whose rackets got strung by the same stringer...there is no coincidence which lead into batches because it happens all over the globe, it's more pointing towards the stringer, I know the best on the best machine etc. but even he is a human and can make errors when people get him on his nerves. BTW I got several jobs years ago before I bought a machine from a stringer who has excellent contact to Yonex and meet Mr. Yoneyama in person, he knows Markis Kido and strung at Sudirman Cup and string since 40 years...but his quality of his jobs is just average. His history sounds impressive but that's it.
N7II, BG80 @ 13 x 13.5 kg = 1318 Hz, Stringster = 13.6 kg. JS10, BG80 @ 12.5 x 13 kg = 1321 Hz, Stringster = 13.1 kg.
Duora 77, BG 80, 11.5/12kg (YY 2 piece pattern; last 4 crosses pulled at 11.5) 1135hz Li Ning N7 II, No.1, 11.5/12kg (YY 2 piece pattern; last 4 crosses pulled at 11.5) 1170hz
How did you manged to get the starter in B6, which is a single hole? Also the tie-off of the cross in a5? FME I can recommend the starter in B8, tie-off main in B9/b9 to prevent tension loss on the N7II layout. If you wanna do more, you can also do a switchback at the top and tie-off the cross in the nearest shared.
You got me, I tied off on B7 What I mean is 2 pc Mains do outside loop, double pulled Cross tension is at 12kg, except last 4 crosses, done at mains tension
I understand what you meant. Wanted just to be funny and share my experience on the layout maybe this helps anybody.
Now i'm just wondering what could possibly be a simple but good chemical solution for strings to make them taut again, just to recover from tension loss if at all this is possible?
N9II, LN1 @11/11 kg, 0% PS = 1222 Hz N7II, LN1 @11/11 kg, 0% PS = 1222 Hz ...this makes me a lot happier than it actually should.
I'm really glad that my string snapped on Friday to provide you with the appropriate test sample - or maybe not so much I hope standard color has better durability than blue
To give you a reference - that other N9II was last strung mid of January with the same setup and also in yellow. And you know that the owner is not a light-hitter. No idea what that blue set snapped so quickly. Grommets looked fine, but I still changed them to be on the safe side. Maybe it really was just an unlucky mishit.
Compressed air or similar? Anything coming out cold would do it, at least short term. Probably not recommended though (so i will try it). Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
