Anyone tried this string? Repulsion:? Control:? Sound:? Tension Holding:? Durability:? Soft/Hard? Thanks BC
Soft, rubbery and durable. Dull imo. Although for very strange reason red gives the best performance and white the worst.
Interesting! I'd like some! According to http://www.ashawayusa.com/BadmintonIndexV2.php it dosn't come in red. Are you sure it's genuine?
It does for everyone else, because you just gave a review for a fake string :S Or maybe you got the wrong string, the older Zymax strings came in red.
Well, it says here that zy70 only in red, zy67 only in red, zy66fire orange and white. We get those in different color too! Zy66 in blue, black. Zy67 in yellow and silver. Zy70 in white and yellow. Just a simple Google search goes a long way. String manufacturing date oct2016, confirmed from the dealer.
Can it be region specific? No it wasn't fake, dealer is an ashaway guy. Got a racket too and it wasn't fake.
Very suspect that Ashaway should produce a red one just for the indian market. The picture is bad quality and the layout of the package is different compared to this which i have at home. I think it's fake. Why should they do something special just for the Indian market? In some countries even official distributors sell fake stuff. Don't mean anything.
Dave sent me a set of 66FP to try out, I strung it at 28. It wasn't great, power wasn't anything to write home about, nor was control. Dave said that you have to string 66FP very high for it to really pop, so maybe you need to be into the 30s to make good use of it.
Repulsion: 9/10. Make no mistake this is actually a quality string and very ez on ur arms. Control: 7/10 if u like soft ones this is for u. But to me is a weird kinda thick marshy goo feel Sound: 8/10. Tension Holding: 8/10 because it is soft to the extreme to begin with and any tension loss wud be in-noticeable. Durability: Seems to be forever. 9/10 Soft/Hard: Soft and marshy. Hv a feeling the strings r made from some thick goo by The Swamp Thing
Question about Fire Power 66 - I have been using it for the last 6 months and I like it a lot. But, I recently bought a racket and had it stringed with FP66 from hte store, but this time it was very different from those in my own stash. This was kind of a glossy surface and not the more textured that I was used to. It was also extremely dull compared to those that I had before, which I think is really nice and crisp. I thought it might be a different string, but from what I could read on the markings it appeared to be right. I actually couldn't use it. So I had it restringed with my own FP66 and got the familiar feeling i was used to. Anyone else seen these differences in the same sting make?
